R-Type is a shooter in the Nemesis style, published in 1988 by IREM. It has a little bug : it does not detect the MSX-MUSIC soundchip when this one is integrated in the MSX machine. Besides, the FM-PAC cartridge needs absolutely to be in slot 2.

BiFi has created a small cartridge to resolve astutely this problem. You insert it in slot 1 and the game needs to be in slot 2. The menu allows, if this is the case, to keep the MSX1 color palette on a MSX2 and to choose the soundchip. If you press on GRAPH in the boot sequence, the higher configuration will automatically be selected.

To get this ROM, go on the BiFi website, click on Downloads, then on Bugfixes. The RTYPE-FM.LZH file can be unzipped with WinRar.
