UPDATE 16/12/2012 : I had forgotten 2 variants of the Ulver cheat, with or without the FRS improvements : you can now launch the Penguin mode of the game while being ultra-invincible !

Nemesis 2 (or Gradius 2) is a famous Konami game, published in 1987, at a time that all the technics were not available to optimize the speed and the smoothness of an action game. In 2009, the Brazilian coder FRS has released an XPC patch with some interesting improvements that I’ve applied on some versions for cheaters :

- speed optimizations
- new copy-to-VRAM routines that take advantage of the V9958 high-speed transfer if a MSX2+ or a MSXturboR is detected
- Dynamic-Vsync patch that speeds up the game on slower MSXs and fixes the turbo bug for the faster ones
- CoolColors that adjusts the palette on a MSX>=2 with much more pleasant colors than the ones set by the BIOS
- SmoothScroll and TurboFix for MSX2+ and MSXturboR
- optional patches for invulnerability and cartridge-combination simulation

However, we think that all the pleasure provided by the fantastic work of the coder is spoiled when only XPC patches are made available. Two polls on Konamito.com and the MSX Resource Center have proven that a significant majority of the MSX users does not want to lose time and motivation when trying to make correctly the patch operation.

For your comfort, MSX blue has decided to change the situation. It means that you can download from this website a package with the original versions for cheaters and the patched roms, with even Portuguese and French versions ! The mapper of these roms is Konami SCC.

In these roms, you will surely appreciate those allowing to have 100 lives and to enjoy all the advantages of the 3 cartridges (Penguin Adventure – Maze Of Galious – Qbert) simulated at the same time ! Other curiosity, the Ulver version with invulnerability, but the function keys are de-activated !!!

To be very clear : the public release of the patched roms is under the responsability of MSX blue. All the other credits must be given to FRS.
